--license#

Argument --license wyświetla podstawowe informacje o programie ctags (to samo, co argument --version) oraz przyjętą licencje, którą jest GNU GPL (GNU General Public License)[WikiEN, WikiPL]. Argument --license to jeden z przerywających argumentów.

Prawidłowe użycie argumentu najlepiej objaśnić na zapisie składniowym:
